The Hellefisk is a lightweight Norwegian fishing knife designed by Tor Indergaard in 1992. Its thin, relatively stiff 123 mm stainless steel blade is paired with a traditional cork handle that allows the knife to float if accidentally dropped overboard. The simple fixed-blade design is purpose-built for fishing use, while its compact size also makes it practical for general cutting tasks around camp and outdoors. A genuine leather sheath with a thong is supplied for carrying the knife.

About the 12C27 Steel
The Hellefisk uses 12C27 stainless steel, a single-layer knife steel developed by Swedish steelmaker Alleima, formerly known as Sandvik. Helle describes 12C27 as a tough, stain-resistant steel suitable for substantial use and specifies a hardness of 59–60 HRC. Helle also notes that 12C27 can be used with a firesteel when the knife has a suitable 90-degree spine. For the Hellefisk, the stainless construction is particularly appropriate to a fishing knife that may be exposed regularly to moisture, while the relatively thin blade is suited to controlled cutting work.
The Hellefisk combines a straightforward fishing-knife design with practical Norwegian craftsmanship. Its thin 12C27 stainless steel blade, naturally buoyant cork handle and lightweight construction make it particularly suited to fishing, while the genuine leather sheath provides a traditional way to carry and protect the knife.
