The OUTBOUND Heavy Duty Flag Of India is a large-format representation of the Indian national flag, featuring the distinctive saffron, white and green tricolour with the navy-blue Ashoka Chakra at its centre. Measuring 150 cm x 90 cm, this flag provides a clear and recognisable display of India's national colours for cultural events, sporting occasions, educational displays, heritage collections and other settings where the Indian flag is required.
India's present national flag was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 22 July 1947, shortly before independence on 15 August 1947. The design consists of three equal horizontal bands of deep saffron, white and dark green, with a navy-blue Ashoka Chakra in the centre of the white band. The Chakra is based on the wheel appearing on the abacus of the Lion Capital of Ashoka at Sarnath and has 24 spokes.
The tricolour became the national flag of the Dominion of India on 15 August 1947 and continued as the flag of the Republic of India following the adoption of the Constitution in 1950. The Flag Code of India governs the display of the national flag and specifies a rectangular design with a length-to-width ratio of 3:2. Current Indian regulations also permit machine-made polyester flags, following amendments to the Flag Code.
