The Australian Battledress (Ike) Jacket is a genuine military surplus garment based on the classic battledress pattern worn by British Commonwealth forces throughout the Second World War. Designed as a practical field and service jacket, its distinctive waist-length cut provided excellent freedom of movement while pairing with the high-waisted battledress trousers of the period.
This Australian Army version reflects a design that remained in military service well beyond WWII, continuing to be worn for ceremonial duties and formal parades for many years. The familiar cropped style also influenced the American "Ike" jacket introduced during the latter stages of the war. These jackets are supplied in as-new, if not unissued, condition and were stored in their original military packing, making them an excellent choice for collectors, historical displays, reenactments or anyone seeking authentic military clothing.
