Originally manufactured to house the M126A1 Red Star Parachute Signal (DODIC 1370-L311), this genuine Military Surplus canister was designed to protect the signal during transport, storage and field deployment. The M126A1 was a hand-held military illumination and signalling device that launched a red star suspended beneath a parachute, providing a bright aerial signal for battlefield communication and limited-area illumination. It was widely used by NATO and allied military forces for both day and night operations.
Supplied used and empty, this original military canister offers the same robust protection that made it suitable for service use. Its durable construction and secure sealing lid make it an excellent waterproof storage container for survival equipment, fire-lighting supplies, fishing tackle, first aid items and other outdoor essentials, while the authentic military markings add genuine surplus character.
