The Spanish CETME Model L Bayonet is a genuine military-surplus bayonet associated with Spain's 5.56 mm NATO CETME Model L service rifle. This used example is supplied with its scabbard and retains the distinctive design developed specifically for the Model L. The bayonet features a green grooved grip, broad crossguard, black-finished blade assembly and a scabbard closely based on the earlier M1964 pattern.
As a military-surplus item, individual examples may show variations in colour, condition and minor details. This makes each example particularly relevant to collectors of Spanish military equipment and historic CETME systems.

History
The CETME Model L was developed in Spain as a 5.56 × 45 mm NATO successor to the earlier 7.62 mm CETME Model C. The rifle was approved for production in 1984, with the first examples entering Spanish service in 1987. It remained in Spanish service until the adoption of the Heckler & Koch G36 in 1999.
The Model L bayonet belongs to a later generation of Spanish CETME bayonets and was produced by the state-owned Santa Bárbara factory under the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI). Historical references identify the 1983-pattern bayonet as the third CETME bayonet model. Its design combined a German-influenced mounting arrangement with a blade profile influenced by American M4, M5, M6 and M7 bayonets. The Army pattern featured a green plastic scabbard, while a separate Navy variant used a black scabbard.
The CETME Model L bayonet is consequently an interesting piece of late-Cold-War Spanish military equipment, reflecting the transition of Spanish small arms from the earlier 7.62 mm CETME rifles to the 5.56 mm NATO Model L. The documented NATO Stock Number 1095-33-000-0293 identifies it as Cuchillo-Bayoneta (knife-bayonet).
The Spanish CETME Model L Bayonet With Scabbard is a distinctive piece of military surplus with a documented connection to one of Spain's important Cold War-era service rifles. Its genuine surplus status, recognisable CETME pattern and included scabbard make it a noteworthy addition to a collection of Spanish or NATO military equipment.
